A Welsh Wander - an epic trek right around Wales

9th May 2017

The 10th May sees the launch of Tom Davies book of his journey around Wales, using the Offa's Dyke Path and Wales Coast Path

On 26 July 2016, Tom Davies left his home in Presteigne in a stout pair of walking boots carrying a 20 kg rucksack, and set off north along the Offa’s Dyke Path. On 1 October he arrived home, having walked the entire 1,092-mile perimeter of Wales to raise over £5,300 for Alzheimer’s Society.

Every night during his 9-week walk, he recorded the places, people, wildlife, difficulties and joys he had experienced that day. This heart-warmingly open and honest book is bursting with interesting facts about the places along Tom’s route, vivid descriptions and photos of stunning scenery, magical wildlife encounters, bizarre anecdotes, random and life-reaffirming generosity from strangers, and even a few dark moments of the soul. But most of all it contains an astounding energy and positivity, and a contagious love for the breathtaking coast and scenery of Wales which cannot fail to get the reader’s feet itching to get out and see more of this wonderful country.
