Kington Walking Festival 2015

20th August 2015

From the 17th to 20th September Kington is holding its fourth Walking festival building on the success of the previous 3, there's something for everyone.

9 walks are sold out, but there are still plenty to choose from but things are moving fast. The other events are also filling up with a couple of the smaller ones already nearly full.

For more information on the festival visit the Kington Website

Another major event at this festival is the opening of the Wyche Way, an 80 mile link between England and the Welsh Borders, linking two National Trails, the Offa's Dyke Path and the Cotswold Way. Kate Ashbrook, General Secretary of the Open Spaces Society as well as President of The Ramblers and patron of the Walkers are Welcome Towns Network will be officially opening this new route at 9.45am on friday 18th. Immediately afterwards Guy Vowles, whose brain child the Trail is, will lead the first leg of the Wyche Way from Kington to Weobly followed by the second leg the next day from weobly to Bodenham.

The other event happening during the festival ids the launch of new 8 pubs challenge walk and leaflet.  Geoff Cooper, a member of the Kington Walks committee and a keen walker cum pub visitor has put together a new walk around Kington. As well as stages of this being available during the festival, we have produced a leaflet so you can do it any time. The leaflet is available as a pdf. download below and at Kington TIC.
