Walking Day

meet at Clos-Tan-y-Mur (Recycling) Car Park, 10am

Montgomery Tourism is holding a Walking Day which is intended to be the beginning of what will become in future years a Montgomery Walking Festival held over a few days. The walk will be in conjunction with the Montgomery Walking Group who meet on the 3rd Wednesday of every month.

The start will be from Clos-Tan-y-Mur (Recycling) Car Park at 10am on the 16th November. It is a circular walk of about 4 miles. The group will leave Montgomery along the Newtown Road and walk up the Fridd through a beautiful beech wood to reach the historic Iron Age hill fort. From there we cross into fields on the other side of the Llandyssil road and so approach the Town Hill from the side - away from Montgomery. The group will return to the town over the hill making use of two newly erected stiles. From Town Hill and along the way there are wonderful views of the surrounding areas. For more information please contact the Tourism Committee via the Town's website.
