The Walk in More Detail:

There are two choices of walk, both of which start and end at Offa's Mead Academy, Beachley Rd., Sedbury, Chepstow, Mon. NP16 7DT.  Both take you through the historic town of Chepstow with its castle, cenotaph, alms houses and views of the River Wye.

Those who choose to walk the full route (8k) will continue on from Chepstow walking along part of Offa’s Dyke Path, taking in impressive vistas from the cliff top and the viewing point at Wintour’s Leap.  The walk will follow an ancient donkey track, narrow paths along the cliff top and tracks across fields, over stiles and through kissing gates.

The shorter route (4k) leads from Chepstow up a steep hill to Tutshill and back to Sedbury.  On the way scenic views of Chepstow and its castle can be glimpsed through the trees.  This route is negotiable by children's buggies with someone fit pushing them.

A message from Cancer Research UK:

We are launching our new walk in Chepstow and we hope you will join us.  However, if this is not something for you, you can still support us by sending the details around your contacts on facebook or to people you think may be interested in helping us to recruit walkers.

Our plan is to beat all cancers sooner - but we can’t do this alone. We need your support now more than ever and so we are asking you to step out with us and sign up now for this exciting new event.

Our ambition is to accelerate progress and see at least three-quarters of all people diagnosed surviving the disease within the next 20 years. Over 33,000 patients are joining our clinical trials every year.  Cures are coming.

Research is our most powerful weapon against cancer. In the 1970’s, less than a quarter of people with cancer survived. Through our research we’ve helped to double UK survival rates over the last 40 years. While no one underestimates the challenges we have yet to overcome, we firmly believe that the next several years can, and will transform the outlook for cancer patients.

I hope you will join us – for those touched by cancer, every moment counts.  By walking with us and raising funds or by helping us to promote the event, you will make a difference.

If you have any queries please just email  maria.parker@cancer.org.uk

Thank you in anticipation of your support.

Yours sincerely,

Maria Parker
